White Ink Tat and some other Questions
Hey all,
I'm considering getting a white ink tat of the Hebrew "God is my kinsman-redeemer". Does anyone have any experience with the white ink? I've heard it doesn't show up as well on darker skin which is good because I am fairly light skinned. I think the white ink may look really good on the back of my shoulder. Also, anyone know of a good Christian (or just really good) tattoo place around the Knoxville, TN area? Thanks for any info.

Re: White Ink Tat and some other Questions
Josh,
I have some work done in White ink but it was only used to highlight. It does fade over time alot quicker than other inks. So if you don't mind it fading then cool. It also has a tendancy to yellow a bit about 3 or 4 months after you get inked. It is really a great color for highlights, but I would not get anything done in that color.
Peace.

I guess I have to ask the obvious question: Why get a tattoo that is pretty much invisible?

Re: White Ink Tat and some other Questions
Actually, I've noticed some white ink tattoos on other people recently and they are quite noticeable. Plus, they have made me take notice even more and really look at them since they aren't the norm. I don't know, I like them pretty well.

Re: White Ink Tat and some other Questions
Any "white ink only" tat is going to have to be gone over a few times, cuz white ink doesn't pack in too well. It won't look uniform and will have a lot of light spots. It's your tattoo, so make sure you're happy with whatever you get, but I see a lot of explaining in your future as to what your tat says, since it won't be that solid and easy to see/read. Also a tattoo with no outline tends to "fade" into the skin more, and not be as noticeable, so that will make the writing even harder to see.

Re: White Ink Tat and some other Questions
I personally listening to all the arguments would not get white ink, i am about as pale as they come, save albino. But as far as i know of finding a shop check the members list on the home page. but this is the only one i found in TN.

Re: White Ink Tat and some other Questions
Josh,
I dated a guy who tried to get a white ink outline on one of his tattoos. He is pretty pale and I remember he said it was the worst thing he tried. It wasn't showing up and the tattoo artist kept going over it and it was extremely painful. He ended up just getting an outline in a different color since the white ink didn't work out. Hope this helps.
