I found that remark true AND beautiful. I have over 12 tattoos, 2 scarrifications and I'm pierced. My scarrifications and three of my tattoos are faith based. Let the people look at you weird. If they don''t accept you because you are marked that is their problem. You are an amazing child of God, and He loves you tattoos and all.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Sara74)Tue, 05 Aug 2014 23:25:31 +0000 Re: Christian singles with tattooshttps://bchristiantattooassociation.runboard.com/p1021,from=rss#post1021https://bchristiantattooassociation.runboard.com/p1021,from=rss#post1021quote:urania235 wrote: Interesting reading your ruminations about "church culture." I have no reproductive aspirations and am one of those weird people who are at their most content alone with a good book and music of my choice blaring too loud. I honestly believe that we place MUCH too great an importance on dating, finding a mate, and reproducing. Nothing against folks in the CTA who have chosen this path, but seriously - this seems to be the end-all focal point for most people, and I'm convinced that God can use introverted, reclusive geeks like me in different, equally valid ways from those who choose to cultivate families. Keep in mind that there is no record of Jesus himself dating, marrying or raising a family. -Roscoe nondisclosed_email@example.com (urania235)Sun, 18 Jul 2004 00:34:53 +0000 Re: Christian singles with tattooshttps://bchristiantattooassociation.runboard.com/p1014,from=rss#post1014https://bchristiantattooassociation.runboard.com/p1014,from=rss#post1014Oh, that's a great way of putting it with the 'Church' culture. I'm sure the older or more conservative members of my church wouls shun me if they knew I had a tattoo (seeing as it's in my middle back, it's almost always covered) but I've began to notice that there are more active members proudly showing tattoos. On my wednesday night services, the bass and guitar players on the worship team both have multiple tattoos. The guitar player has them all up and down his arms and his legs and he told me he wants to get covered in tattoos, except for his face, feet, and palms of his hands. I can't wait to see what the 'church culture will think of him then. And then there is a new youth-leader that has a rather large tribal-like cross design completely surrounding his calf. I think it is our own choices as to how we worship God and show our devotion to him. If that means marking our skin, then why not? Jesus marked his skin for us, why can't we do it for Him?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Entertain Angels)Sun, 11 Jul 2004 16:43:48 +0000 Re: Christian singles with tattooshttps://bchristiantattooassociation.runboard.com/p1013,from=rss#post1013https://bchristiantattooassociation.runboard.com/p1013,from=rss#post1013it's "church" culture more than it is Christianity really... church culture would tell you that you can't have tats. you can't play cards, or drink, or smoke, or drive faster than the speed limit, and when someone cuts you off in traffic because you drive too slow, you have to say "oh God bless you" because that's how church culture wants to be represented, and that's how they've decided that God wants to be represented. God on the other hand, i believe would say 'hey, worship me with everything you do, and that includes your body...' but it is sad, that so much Christianity gets mixed up with church culture, that in most people's minds they are the same thing.nondisclosed_email@example.com (PhantomShark)Sat, 10 Jul 2004 11:55:01 +0000 Re: Christian singles with tattooshttps://bchristiantattooassociation.runboard.com/p1012,from=rss#post1012https://bchristiantattooassociation.runboard.com/p1012,from=rss#post1012Ok I might as well tell everone that I am a tattooed Christian woman.
