QUESTIONS FROM THE CTA...PLEASE RESPOND:

We want to hear you answers.....

We are finishing up the new site....about 80% done. There is A LOT of information to transfer over and resposting some of the stuff is proving very difficult.....but not impossible. We are also really putting it out there....like never before. I sooooo wish I could just put it up right now, I am sooo excited for all of you to see it!

We have some questions we would like to hear your answers on.....as tattooed people and Christians!! Please take the time to reply.....

In Grace,

Jayme W.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We here at the Christian Tattoo Association totally believe in supporting our brothers and sisters that are collectors and tattoo artists. Yet we are also feel strongly called to spread the message of Christ and believe it is our first calling.

We also believe that we are called as tattoo artists to share the beautiful art of tattooing. To help guide people to better and better tattoos in more professional environments. We are artists who travel around the country and feel we have a pretty strong grip on the tattoo community at large and would like to share this with you, as Christians.

We are designing the new site with all of these things in mind. Sharing the possibilites and artists that are pushing the boundaries of tattooing and just doing amazing work. Also showcasing artist who year in, year out are doing good qulaity tattooing and providing their clients with good work.

Yet off of the emails we get everyday we feel even more called to spread this word more clearly and effectively for our brothers and sisters.

As tattoo artists and collectors we want to hear your thoughts, your opinions of some things you like about the old site and some things you would like to see on the new site...let us hear from you!!

Which do you feel is more relevant to our lives as Christians?

Getting tattooed by a Christian and enjoying your faith?
or

Getting tattooed by a Non-Christian and sharing your faith?

Or is the quality of work important to you? We dont mean just ok but are you interested in getting some of the best work out there? Knowing where to look? Does it matter that you get the best tattoo you can get? Would you like to know the possibilies?

TATTOO ARTISTS:

Would you like to see a forum on here where machine builders, craftsman and other nationally known artists talk about tattooing, the art, the craft and tips on how they do what they do? Would you like to know more about the artists out there pushing the limits of the art?

These are just some of the many questions we are addressing on the new site. We want to give you the full experience of the tattoo community and a life of Faith in Jesus. We want to support your Christian needs, your human needs as well as your tattoo needs?

What do you think about that?

Thanks for sharing a head of time and we are sooooo looking forward to getting all fo this off the ground!!

We love you and God bless!!

In Grace,

Jayme W.

Re: QUESTIONS FROM THE CTA...PLEASE RESPOND:

First thing, Happy Easter! The Lord our savior has broken the bondage of death, and given us life! He loves us so much that he gave his life for us.! And, I believe the CTA will grow and become an important part of the tattoo community and industry.

"Which do you feel is more relevant to our lives as Christians?

or

Getting tattooed by a Non-Christian and sharing your faith?"

1. I would say that we all need help from those who are close to God, and that there are others whom need help from us(a person with Christ) as well. I believe it works both ways. I know that I need help from my Christian brothers, and sisters who are strong in faith and close with Christ.

2. I also believe that it is a great thing to help someone who has no interest in God and wants nothing to do with him and Jesus.
I can also help show that your life does not end when you accept Jesus, and want to live for God.It begins and sometimes it is the freedom that we fear. I know that for myself the chains that weigh me down, and that I do not want, are the things I hold onto.... for who would I be if they are not there.(an example would be a ,Change of heart, and loving your enemy. Just some insight on things of life) Sometimes helping someone, is just letting them know you can relate and that they too are not alone with the things in life that cause pain (other that tattoos).

As an Artist:

1. I am always wanting to learn more, and having a forum for those in the field would be great! There should much respect given to the forefathers of tattooing, and educating those in the tattoo world about proper ways to do tats is one way. ( not that I am all that ya know ,,,lol )
2. I think it is helpful to educate others looking to get tattoo work. Help understand what good work is and most important what sterilization means with tattooing.

Just a couple of thoughts. Looking forward for what the Lord has in store for us! and Thanks for the all the hard to those in the CTA!!! God Bless ya, Jaymz.

Re: QUESTIONS FROM THE CTA...PLEASE RESPOND:

I think that supporting christian artists is important, but ministry is moreso; if they give the same quality of artwork, I'd go to the non-christian in order to share my faith. If the christian artists quality was a little better, I might get the initial tat done there, and discuss the possibility of having it touched up by the/a non-christian artist.

Besides, in my area, there are just enough artists to provide a slight variety; we generally know them all by name.

Good questions, though.

Re: QUESTIONS FROM THE CTA...PLEASE RESPOND:

when it comes to ministering... that's first. With that being said... I want quality, but would rather share that with christian artists (which i've never done). I live in oklahoma. tattooing just recently become legal. no artists here are the quality i'm looking for. that's ok because i enjoy making a "roadie" a couple times a year to other parts of the U.S. for ink. It's vacation to me. a forum like what we have now is awesome for a place to go that people are very generous and seem to care. quality photos of tatts are important as i enjoy looking around for different ideas to twist and turn into something interesting for myself. i see a lot of people asking for christian artists in certain places on this board, so i would think that if the CTA were to "recruit" as many artists... christian or otherwise to list their shops and contact info, it would be awesome. The problem with what i saw on the previous site is that these artists wouldnt respond or were very resistant to e mails and what not. i know the artists are busy, but if i'm asking about things and checking on artists, its a big deal to me. I take off work, lose money, travel, expect quality work, and want to enjoy myself. BUT, most of all... I SPEND MONEY with that artist. i would say lots of artist listings, lots of pics. my2 pennys worth

Some good points here!!! I believe the CTA is going to make a difference with the Tattoo World. God is in control, I feel that he has spoken to all that check out the site and, are apart of the ministry. And, it is great to have a place where we can add any point of view. Jaymz

We are VERY intersted in everyone's point of view and understanding. This ministry is here to SERVE and we plan to lead it as followers of our Lord and servant leaders.

Thank you so, so very much for you input. We have addressed all questions put forth here with our new site and I feel we are just about there.

It is important if we are going to do it to do it right and thats why it has taken so long. So with that said. I will be announcing the kick off date very soon. Actually, as soon as I am told by our web person when it is.

Looking forward to bringin the Lord in Color!!

In Grace,

Jayme

For me it does not matter one way or the other. on one hand you have fellowship with a fellow christian and on the other you have a chance to share. i feel both are important in our walk but for me as i am starting to think about adding a few more, it is about the quality of work. i don't want okay, i want outstanding. if i could find a christian artist that did some kiler work here in central indiana i may go broke quickly

Re: QUESTIONS FROM THE CTA...PLEASE RESPOND:

First off I'd like to say thank you to the CTA and all of you guys for staying true to yourselves and your calling; along with your strength in faith and love of our LORD Jesus Christ! I find it amazing that in today's world, there is a group of artists and collectors that have such an incredible desire to spread the gospel! God Bless You All!!

I myself have been an on again off again artist for years. Mainly, I've been a musician. But since I was eighteen, I've wanted tattoos and become an tattoo artist. Due to the lack in quality of artists and mentors, I put my desire on the back burner. My wife and I were saved in 2003, I quickly became the church's bass player and was content to do just that in the church. But over the past couple of years, God has led me through bible college and now back to the desire of my heart. Now, at 38, I have received my first tattoo and am now selling my portrait (pencil) work (some of my portfolio is on my page www.myspace.com/brianbroadway )
With all of that said, I am praying that there is a Christian tattoo artist willing to mentor and God has led me to you guys and the CTA (I don't believe in coincidenses). About the questions and knowing where I'm coming from, let me say that I think it's vital for those , like myself, to have a website that is dedicated to the artform (in all facets) for fellowship and to help equipt those in the industry for quality artwork and quality ministry. Let's face it, there are tons of magazines, websites and books out there that can help with the artistic side of the industry, but hardly anything helping Christian tattooists, artists, and collectors in spreading the Word, enetering the industry, becoming better artists, and for "just plain" spiritual back-up.
Again, I thank God for you guys. And know that I'm in full support of however you chose to design your website. Mine is just an opinion, and not meant to offend. May God continue to bless you all!
In His Love, Brian Broadway

A forum for Christian professionals would be great, but make sure it's for professionals only, and not an open info source to sell-out our trade secrets to anybody with an internet connection. The body art trade should be treated like other skilled trades, and since there's no union to protect our interests, we have to do it ourselves.
