YOU ARE A LIGHT!!!....July 13th 07

Luke 11:33
[ The Lamp of the Body ] "No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.

Jesus has made you a light! With his very spirit and nature he is guiding you, into the glory of God and the will of the Lord for your life! As Christians and tattooed people we must stand, yes we must. But for what do we stand?

It is the act of being able to stand before God, cleansed by the blood of Christ...tattoos and all that both justifies us in Christ and places us within the will of God. At this point God has called us AS WE ARE, to live in the freedom secured for us by the love of God through Jesus.

Now all that is left to do is to stand!! Stand as a light on a hill for all the world to see. Not a light of good deeds, unless it will reach someone's heart. We are to stand not as a witness for God but as a witness TO GOD. Our lives no matter what we do with them or dont do with them are no longer pulled, lived or controled by the law. THey are controlled and to be affiremed in the spirit. As paul says in Romans ....

Romans 8:5
"Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires."

We are tattooed children of the King! Called by God to live as tattooed people for His purposes and His glory! That may show itself in countless ways and countless situations! How glorious that is!

So my brothers and sisters....children of color, STAND!!! Stand up and be heard and be seen! Bare the burdens of those around you. Share you heart, your ink and your lives and be a witness TO God! Live each moment before the king...KNOWING THAT GOD LOVES YOU....JUST AS YOU ARE!!

How amazing is that??!!!!

Be a tattooed soldier and allow the Lord to love you with you rwhole heart...right where you are! The biggest witnessing tool is not preaching but living your life before the throne!

I am so proud of my tattooed brothers and sisters! God is too...he tells me that everyday!

So know this day how amazing you are and as Winston Churchill has said...

"In the past I have had a light which flickered, in the present is a light which the future I will be a light for all the world to see!!"

May God bless and keep you, as only He can!!

In Grace,

Here in my area there are way too many tattoo shops. I've been right here for 18 years and was the only one for about 9 years. Now, they're everywhere. Some are
good, doing good quality work because the owners are like me in that they love the art of it. They know it's not cool, easy money. To stay in business in a competitive environment means that there's either a large talent, good business skills and/or God's keeping you there for a reason.

While I'd like to think I'm here for a combination of all 3 of those mentioned, I'm fully aware that the foremost in the 3 is that God keeps me here for a reason. This tattoo shop didn't start out as His, but indeed it is His.

From various people who've come in over the years, it's apparent that my shop is the only one in my city with "God" stuff in it. The "God" stuff isn't for effect, and isn't for advertising. I don't own a "christian tattoo shop." I'm not trying to cash in on the "christian" part of it. Rather I am a Christian, who owns a tattoo shop. The "God" stuff is a reflection of who I am, not of an attempt to schmooze people out of their money.

As I hear about other shops, look at mailings from other shops, look at magazines, etc, that deal with the tattoo industry I know that those of us who're christians in the business are indeed called to be Light.

We exist in a really dark world, a really dark profession. We are the only Bible some people encounter.

We absolutely can not forget that. We are essentially ministers in a dark world. We must be the Light. As believers, disciples of Jesus Christ, it is our calling.
